At Conyngham Street Community Children’s Centre, we practice primary care-giving practices, particularly within the Infant and Toddler Rooms. On enrolment, one carer from your child’s room will assume responsibility for your child’s care and routines.
As your child moves through to the Junior Kindy and Kindy Rooms, the staff move towards a ‘programming group focus’ that allows educators to plan, implement and reflect on individual children’s learning, while also building safe and secure relationships with all children.
The use of primary care-giving practices ensures that each child and their family has an opportunity to develop a strong relationship with one caregiver, therefore fostering close communication and shared understanding of individual needs.
Primary care-giving practices are not sole caring practices; all the staff work as a team to ensure positive experiences for both the child and their family.
