Our Centre

“Ninna Marni”

(A Kaurna word for “Hello, how are you?”)

Our centre is located in the leafy suburb of Glenside, situated 5km east of the CBD. The purpose built building is a unique design, set back from the main road and offers natural light through large windows and skylights with ample on-site parking. The Centre has four rooms with the Under 3’s sharing one outdoor play space, and the Over 3’s sharing another.

We embrace play-based learning through many experiences, including nature play, messy play, water play and exploring loose parts. We have sandpits, a climbing tree-house, and our vegetable garden that fosters children’s learning. CSCCC uses the Early Years Learning Framework and are influenced by the principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach. We are currently involved in the South Australian Collaborative Childhood Project Reimaging Childhood: The Rights of Children Birth to 3 years, which sees us researching the Reggio Emilia principles in our local context.

We document children’s learning through the online platform StoryPark. This platform supports educators and families to work together to record, share and extend children’s learning.

Each room within our Centre organises community-based excursions, to support our sense of belonging within our local and extended community. Children may visit places such as nature play playgrounds, retirement villages, local shops and The Hub.

Our onsite cook prepares high quality, nutritious meals for all children within our Centre and caters for any allergies and intolerances. For more information, visit our Nutrition page.
